The Ardea was produced by Lancia between 1939 and 1953, after which came the Appia. Aside from being extremely pretty cars they, like all Lancias are beautifully and cleverly engineered. The Ardea is powered by a 903cc V4 engine and, by the time the 3rd series cars came out in 1948, featured a five-speed transmission – the first mass-produced car in the world to have this.
Wayne has either worked on or owned this car for over 20 years. As the Ardea was never officially imported into the UK this is a rare car – one of perhaps 6 or 7 in the country.
